Le guépard américain (Miracinonyx) est un genre éteint de félin de la famille des Felidae. Il vivait en Europe, en Asie, en Afrique et en Amérique du Nord[1] et a vécu du Tortonien (Miocène) au Ionien (géologie) (Pléistocène).[2]
Ce genre regroupe trois espèces, toutes éteintes :
- † Miracinonyx trumani ;
- † Miracinonyx inexpectatus ;
- † Miracinonyx studeri.
Sa taille avoisinait les 2 m de long pour environ 1.2 m au garrot.[3]
